ACE FILTER GUIDE

Ace filtration products use a two stage process whereby large extracted particulate are first captured in a pre-filter, passing finer, and more harmful, fumes to a main filter.  The main filter captures and contains a certain amount of the fumes, passing a residual amount back into to air along with a large quantity of fresh air.  How much residual fume returned to the air is determined by the efficiency rating of the main filter.   For example, a HEPA filter captures the greatest amount of fume and particulate, and is recommended for use where toxic fumes are created.  Conversely, a 65% efficiency filter allows a relatively large amount of fine particulate to return to the air, but is quite effective in capturing large particulate such as wood chips and grinding particulate.  Which filter to use is therefore determined by the work application.  Following is a filter application overview.  For product specific information, please review the appropriate page on this website:

HEPA....Stainless steel welding, aluminum welding, field work in enclosed areas.

95% Efficiency...carbon steel welding, soldering, most field work not in enclosed areas.

65% Efficiency...grinding, sanding, and cutting applications.  Most woodworking processes
